The girls were really excited to go fishing. Ashlyn and Aubrie have only been fishing once and Sabrina and Kadence have never been fishing. They were excited to find "Nemo" and catch a "wally" (walleye). Kadence named every fish "pinkie cutie". She also got brave and would touch the fish, help get a minnow for grandpa, and she got the hang of reeling in a fish. She also loved to find all the loons...mommy's favorite bird. Although, Kadence would call them "balloons". Sabrina loved seeing the fish and opening the live well, but she had no interest in touching the fish. Aubrie also enjoyed seeing the fish and helping out, but had no interest in touching the fish. She loved to go on boat rides...who doesn't? Ashlyn was a fishing fanatic. On the last outing, she caught an 8.35 lb northern with Uncle Jeff. She was able to reel in fish on her own (at least all the perch, blue gills, and rock bass). She kissed a fish to impress Grandpa, but I don't think she would do that again anytime soon.
The girls spent time swimming in the lake, as well as tubing (only Ashlyn and Aubrie). The little girls loved playing in the sand!! There were kayaks to borrow and the girls loved riding with Mommy, Daddy, and Heather. Ashlyn and Aubrie also had the chance to go tubing for the first time. They had a blast and Uncle Jeff and "Aunt" Heather took care of them :)

We took one afternoon as a family of 6 to travel to Itasca State Park, which was about a 45 min - 1 hr drive. We took the girls to the Mississippi headwaters. Ashlyn and Aubrie thought it was pretty cool to see where the river starts and to step foot in the river. The little girls have no idea where we really were, but they had fun.Overall, the girls had a great time. Sabrina, Kadence, Mommy and Daddy fought little illnesses while at the cabin, but we still had loads of fun. The girls hated to leave, but have now settled back into our "real" lives. School will start in a couple weeks and we will remain busy and stressed until next June.
