We had a great day spent at church and with our family. Ashlyn and Aubrie are both old enough to know what Easter is about. We have exposed Ashlyn to our church's Palm Sunday story for the past few years. She understands, for the most part, what Easter and Holy Week are all about. This was Aubrie's first year experiencing the Palm Sunday story and Holy Week. She understands that something sad happened, and then something happy. She is a little confused about Jesus rising from the dead, it makes her think anyone can come back from the dead. The important thing for us is that she hears the story and knows the story. It will make more sense to her when she gets older. As far as the little girls, they think Easter is all about the bunny. At least no one cried this year when visiting the bunny...a plus to having older children.
Saturday we colored eggs with Grandpa and set the baskets out for the Easter Bunny. The girls love coloring eggs, even though they seem to make more of a mess than great art :)
Jim was asked to direct the music at church today so the normal director could play organ all service. That meant Jim was out the door by 6:30. Our kids were up early enough that he was able to see them get their baskets...always a fun moment. I have to say I was pretty impressed with myself, I got all 4 girls fed and dressed, hair done, and teeth brushed by 7:30 am, for an 8:30 church service. I had time to catch a picture before we left. The girls were all cooperative...which is huge in the morning.

The four girls, Grandma, and myself sat in the front row at church...pretty gutsy with four little kids, but they did great. Ashlyn went up and sang the Hallelujah Chorus with Nana and Daddy directing. She sang it earlier this year and knows it pretty well. It was fun to watch her with the choir. During the sermon, Kadence announces, "I have to go potty"..with potty training in full swing, there was no waiting. Sabrina said she had to go as well, so out the three of us went from the front row...ugh. The good thing...they went! After church, we were able to snap a family photo...always a highlight.

We went home and Uncle Scott and Chris met us there. The girls were able to go out back and hunt for our Easter eggs. They were hidden really well this year...nice job bunny. It is nice that the MN weather cooperated again this year...it was beautiful. We ate a lovely meal made by everyone...I have to say I made my first (maybe second) ham and it was yummy! Nana made deviled eggs and they were pastel colors, a little weird to eat, but they tasted normal. The girls and I made a cake that looked like a bunny...lots of sugar...ugh.
There was a lot of sugar consumed today, but we had some calming baths/showers and teeth are brushed and we are ALL ready for some sleep. We hope everyone had a great Easter!!
